Yabloko party plans to participate in elections despite court ruling

Despite a ruling from the Supreme Court that annulled the registration of Yabloko for the elections, the party confirms its participation.

Nikolai Rybakov, the chairman of the Yabloko party, appealed in a published video not to lose hope after the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation announced its ruling to annul his party's nationwide ballot registration. Rybakov emphasized that the ruling had not yet come into force and that it would be contested.

The court decided to annul Yabloko's registration, citing signs of foreign financing detected by financial monitoring. This followed a request from the Central Election Commission. In its ruling, the court specified indications that led to this decision.

Although the specific details of Rybakov's Plan B were not disclosed, he assured that the party still intends to participate in the elections in September. This statement comes as the party faces legal challenges.

Rybakov called on voters not to despair and to show solidarity, as the stated goal of the authorities is to discourage citizens. The court's decision remains to be seen, as legal actions have been announced.
