Four Portuguese citizens are missing off the coast of Croatia after their vessel was caught in a storm. According to a source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MNE), the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday. The vessel was subsequently located, but the events led to the death of one victim, whose identity has not yet been confirmed.

Two of the four missing people have been rescued alive, having spent over eight hours at sea, according to the MNE. The rescue operations are being coordinated closely with Croatian authorities. The two rescued individuals are receiving care from emergency services.

The MNE expressed deep concern while monitoring the situation. So far, there is still no information on the whereabouts of the other two missing citizens, whose search continues.

The inflatable vessel was on a sightseeing tour when it was affected by the storm. The weather conditions in the region may have contributed to the incident, but further details have yet to be disclosed.

The Portuguese consulate in Croatia is working alongside local authorities to provide support to the families of the missing. Relevant authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact causes of the shipwreck.

Meanwhile, Montenegro has expressed concern and hopes that the missing Portuguese citizens will be found quickly. The situation remains under urgent monitoring as rescue teams continue the search for the two individuals still unlocated.
