Telekom replaces analog landline connections with LTE technology

Deutsche Telekom has begun the transition of traditional telephone connections. Where DSL and fiber optics are not available, mobile technology LTE will be used instead. According to Telekom, the connection is established via a special 'telephone box,' which allows existing landline phones to continue being used while retaining the existing phone number.

Users relying exclusively on analog MSAN-POTS connections are particularly affected. According to Telekom, these analog connections will be replaced by the new technology to ensure modern telephony. The transition will primarily take place in areas that lack the necessary broadband options.
