Spanish rhythmic gymnastics wins gold in Frankfurt

The Spanish rhythmic gymnastics team won gold in the all-around competition at the World Championships taking place at the Festhalle in Frankfurt. This is the first time in 25 years that Spain has achieved this gold medal, which it last reached at the championships held in 1998.

The team, coached by Alejandra Quereda and Ana Pelaz, achieved the highest score in two routines: 28.500 in the five-ball routine and 28.950 in the mixed routine with three hoops and two clubs. With these results, the team secured the top position in the competition.

The Spanish team consists of Inés Bergua, Salma Solaun, Andrea Corral, Andrea Fernández, Lucía Muñoz, and Marina Cortelles. The victory enables the team to secure a direct ticket to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, according to El País.
