Spain has recorded 226,391 hectares burned by wildfires in 2026 to date, representing a 38% increase compared to the same period last year, when approximately 140,000 hectares had burned.
As of August 11, 43 large wildfires have been counted in the country, compared to 24 recorded during the same period in 2025, indicating a significant increase in wildfire activity across the national territory.
