Record sale for the Los Angeles Lakers at $12.5 billion
The group led by Bob Iger acquires the franchise from the Dodgers, awaiting NBA approval.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been sold for a record price of $12.5 billion. The offer was made by a group led by former Disney CEO Bob Iger and venture capitalist Joshua Kushner.
Dodgers owner Mark Walter has accepted the offer. Walter had purchased the franchise a year ago from the Buss family for $10 billion. NBA approval is now awaited to finalize the transaction and set a new record in the league's history.
