Ede Voters Participate in Osun Governorship Election
Residents of Ede in Osun State have turned out in large numbers to vote in the ongoing governorship election, with INEC reporting a high rate of polling unit openings.
On Saturday, residents of Ede, located in Osun State, engaged in the ongoing governorship election by visiting various polling units. As early as 6:30 a.m., voters were transported to polling stations, accompanied by National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The governorship candidate of the Accord party, Ademola Adeleke, is from Ede, adding to the local significance of the election. Voters in the area were seen actively participating in the democratic process throughout the morning hours.
According to reports from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a total of 3,556 out of 3,763 polling units in Osun State had opened by 8:30 a.m. This accounts for 94.5% of polling units, indicating a smooth start to the election. Delayed polling units began operations shortly after at around 9 a.m.
The combination of local engagement and timely openings reflects a coordinated effort in the electoral process within Ede, as voters exercised their civic rights in the state governorship election.
