Duhaime plans $47 billion cuts over five years

Éric Duhaime announced that the Quebec Conservative Party (PCQ) intends to achieve savings of $47 billion over five years. This initiative is primarily aimed at funding tax reductions. According to information reported by several media outlets, this would involve the elimination of 20,000 civil service positions as well as the abolishment of the Green Fund.

Duhaime also stated that, in light of the state of public finances, he would favor a less ambitious third link project than originally planned. This position has been presented as a necessary measure given the current budgetary constraints, in order to maintain the financial viability of the state.

The PCQ believes that these drastic measures will allow for a reduction in state spending while still pursuing the goal of tax cuts, according to statements made by Duhaime.
