Colombia thanks Israel for aid following 7.4 magnitude earthquake
President Abelardo de la Espriella praised the assistance of Israeli rescuers after the quake in Colombia.

Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella expressed his gratitude to Benjamin Netanyahu for sending rescuers to assist in the response efforts following the earthquake that struck the country. The earthquake, measuring 7.4 in magnitude, had its epicenter in San José de Palmar and occurred just three days after De la Espriella's inauguration.
Israel's assistance is set against the backdrop of the friendly relationship between the two countries, as highlighted by the Colombian president. Analysts have indicated that this earthquake poses a significant challenge for the new government, which will need to redirect resources initially allocated for other priorities, including a crackdown on paramilitary organizations.
